Daily One-on-One Tutoring

One teacher. One student. Every day.

Most schools that say they offer one-on-one tutoring mean a thirty-minute pull-out session, two or three times a week, with a different person each time. That is not what we mean.

WHAT ONE-ON-ONE MEANS AT LEGACY

Every student at Legacy receives one-on-one tutoring built into their daily schedule.

The tutoring is delivered by a trained specialist who works with the same student all year. The tutoring is not an intervention layered on top of the school day. It is part of the school day, every day, for every student.

The tutor and the classroom teacher coordinate continuously. What a child practices in tutoring shows up in their classroom work. What a child struggles with in the classroom shapes the next day’s tutoring. The two sides of the day reinforce each other.

WHY IT WORKS

Children with dyslexia and language-based learning differences do not learn the same way their peers do.

They need repetition, multisensory reinforcement, and a teacher who can adjust in real time when something is not landing. None of that is possible in a classroom of twenty-five. All of it is possible one-on-one.

"The one-on-one tutoring really transformed both of our kids. It gave them confidence, restored their joy of learning, and met them exactly where they were — so they were finally available for learning."
