Financial Aid

The Legacy School offers need-based financial aid, determined through a predetermined formula that considers each family’s income and expenses.

Awards reflect the individual needs and circumstances of each family, and they vary in size from year to year.

WHEN TO APPLY

Applications for financial aid must be submitted by February 1 for the following school year. Families must reapply for aid each year that their child attends Legacy. A completed application with all required documentation must be submitted in order to qualify.

HOW AWARDS ARE DECIDED

Awards are based on the funds available and on each family’s need relative to the need of others who apply. The School reviews total family income, assets, and expenditures as reported to FACTS, and gives priority to the needs of returning families before determining awards for new students. The full criteria, including how the School treats public school reimbursement, prior balances, and changes in circumstances, are set out in the Financial Aid Policies.

WHEN YOU WILL HEAR BACK

Award letters for families new to Legacy are mailed alongside the acceptance letter and enrollment contract, so that families have the information they need to make their school choice in time. Aid decisions for current Legacy families are mailed in advance of the re-enrollment contract due date.

APPLY & POLICIES

Two documents matter here: the financial aid application, which families complete and submit, and the Financial Aid Policies, which explain in full how aid is awarded, adjusted, and, in some cases, revoked. Families should read the policies before applying.
