Admissions Process

Four steps, at a pace built for families already navigating a lot.

The Legacy School uses a rolling admissions process.

Families are encouraged to apply by February 1, and to submit a separate financial aid application by the same date if they wish to be considered for aid. Each step below is described in plain language.

STEP ONE: TOUR

The tour lasts about ninety minutes.

The campus visit is where most families decide. You meet the Head of School or the Admissions Director, walk the campus, observe classrooms in session, and ask every question you have. Families who cannot visit in person can attend a virtual information session instead.

STEP TWO: APPLICATION & EVALUATION

Families submit one application per child.

Families submit one application per child, along with the non-refundable application fee and a full psychological-educational evaluation administered by a qualified psychologist. Speech and language evaluations and educational testing are valuable additions, but they do not replace the comprehensive evaluation the school requires.

STEP THREE: REVIEW

Legacy reviews each application individually.

Depending on the records a family provides, the school may request a meeting with the parents, a visit day for the child, or additional evaluation data. The goal of the review is fit, for the child, the family, and the school.

STEP FOUR: DECISION & ENROLLMENT

Accepted families receive a letter and an enrollment contract.

Families who applied for financial aid receive their award letter alongside the acceptance letter, so they have the full picture in hand when they make their decision.
