Our Campus

The Legacy School

Legacy sits on 8 beautiful acres in Carroll County, Maryland. We spread our offices, classrooms, and tutoring spaces between three buildings. This gives our students plenty of space to learn. Outside are grassy spaces to study, play, and socialize. In the summer students can enjoy the pool, and all year round enjoy a basketball court, playground, and Gaga Ball pit.

I have 2 boys with different learning differences. Both have gained so much from their time at Legacy. In a short time, you could see a difference not only in their knowledge of subjects being taught, but they gained so much confidence from being fully supported in their learning.”

The Main Building

The Main Building is the original home of the Legacy School. Enter this building to find our school coordinator, there to help communicate the daily needs of our staff and students. The Rotations students use the lockers in this building, and move between their literature, writing, social studies, math, and science classes through these halls. The majority of our tutors have individual offices in this building, and see elementary and Rotations students daily. Our school counselor has an office for meetings with students of all levels.

The Barn

The Barn is the newest addition to the Legacy Campus, opening for students in 2021. It is named The Barn because an actual barn used to stand in its location on campus. This space houses the classrooms for our upper elementary students, generally in 3rd through 5th grades. There are two math tutoring rooms, several classrooms, cubbies for student belongings in the hallway, and a shared tutoring and pull-out space. The Barn is also home to our community room and gymnasium, where all students join Coach Missy for physical education. Outside the community room is our Cafe, a patio full of tables for lunch, breaks, and outdoor learning.

The Admissions House

The Admissions house contains offices, specials classrooms, and primary classrooms. Located in this building are offices for our head of school, Dean of students, and speech pathologist. There is also a staff kitchen and work area for creating the beautiful anchor charts and activities for our students. Our primary classrooms, generally for students in 1st through 3rd grades are housed here. There is also a tutoring room for quick and convenient transitions between one-on-one and whole class activities for primary students. Finally, the Admissions House contains the music room and art room, and has a separate entrance for the older students to minimize disruptions for the littlest learners. Outside are a beautiful porch and patio for lunch and breaks when the weather is nice. The garage has been converted into a shared learning space, for students to enjoy recess and breaks during the rain.

Beautiful Outdoor Spaces

Legacy is situated on almost 8 acres of beautiful campus. We have several patios with benches and tables for outdoor learning, lunch, and breaks. Students have so much fun playing and running on the playground, and play Gaga Ball in the pit. There is a basketball court for physical education, and many fields for games, races, and fresh air. When the weather allows, many of our tutors plan for outdoor sessions, and use multi-sensory activities to engage in learning no matter the environment. Legacy’s campus also has a swimming pool for students to use during summer camp!
