Celebrating the Class of 2025 8th Graders!

Celebrating the Class of 2025 8th Graders!

In May and June, The Legacy School’s 8th Graders had “firsts” and “lasts” to commemorate their time at The Legacy School before 8th Grade Graduation. These treasured events included…Upper School Community Meeting, 8th Grade Picnic, 8th Grade Orioles Field Trip, Graduation Rehearsal, Class of 2025 Banner, Painting and Gifting of Legacy Rock, and 8th Grade Graduation!

Upper School Community Meeting

In mid-May, the 8th Graders had their last Upper School Community Meeting with discussion of school rules, computer use, Shout Out awarded to 8th Grader Landon, and Lion Award given to 7th Grader Simran!

8th Grade Picnic

The weather was perfect for The Legacy School‘s 8th Grade Picnic held in mid-May! 8th Graders tie dyed commemorative shirts, had a pizza lunch, played corn hole, and competed in a scavenger hunt with their fellow 8th graders!

8th Grade Orioles Field Trip

In late May, the 8th Graders, parents, and teachers roadtripped to Camden Yards for the 8th Grade Field Trip to watch a Baltimore Orioles game.

Graduation Rehearsal

Before Graduation, 8th graders had lunch with the Head of School, practiced speeches written about their experience with Dyslexia and as a student at The Legacy School, checked the sound system, watched the graduation tent being erected, and prepared for The Legacy School‘s Class of 2025 8th Graduation!

Class of 2025 Banner

Starting with the Class of 2018, each graduating class has left behind a banner. Each Class banner features the names of each graduate! Class Banners are hung in the Barn/Lower School Building in honor of The Legacy School’s 8th Grade Graduates.

Painting and Gift of Legacy Rock

Our amazing 8th Grade Graduates left a lasting impression on The Legacy School inside and outside the classroom AND with their gift of a “Legacy Rocks” Rock! Thank you to the Pleasants Family, Pleasants Construction, the Cullison Family, and amazing and talented Class of 2025 8th Graders…Tyler, Landon, Wyatt, Dylan, Reed, Aubrey, Katelyn, Nava, Grayson, David, Heshy, and Liam! We are so excited that this “Legacy Rocks” Rock will be a lasting reminder to all who learn at, teach at, or visit The Legacy School campus of our Class of 2025 8th Grade Graduates!

8th Grade Graduation

Congratulations to The Legacy School‘s Class of 2025 graduates! We are so proud of our 8th grade graduates for all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see them soar in high school and beyond!

A Word from Our Founder!

Our Founder and Head of School — Jamie Caplan — shared with Class of 2025 8th Grade Graduates, their teachers, tutors, faculty, Upper School students, parents, and families that:

The most important thing about Legacy, has been and always will be that it is a child-centered community. You had better be willing to meet the child’s needs when they walk through this door. And because it is a child-centered community, we are going to turn the graduation ceremony completed over to the children because this is their accomplishment as much as it is ours.

And as always once a Legacy student, always a Legacy student. We will be cheering all our graduates on from afar and cannot wait to see them soar in high school and beyond! Congratulations!
