“Where should I start?! From the very beginning, Legacy has always been able to see Phoebe’s potential. Their whole approach is different, it is almost as if Legacy had the key to unlocking something in her brain that taught her in a way she understood. They are patient beyond words can describe! Legacy School will NEVER give up on your child, they realize everyone learns differently and they take the time to figure it out. Plus, one on one tutoring is something you don’t receive in most schools.”
Casey R.
“Teachers know how to instruct and work with children who learn differently. Much more one-on-one instruction. Staff and students are all incredibly supportive and kind to one another. My daughter no longer feels “different” or “slower” than her peers.”
Susan E.
“In her previous school, initially my daughter struggled academically, but soon, as she fell further and further behind her peers, the academic challenges she faced began to manifest as social/emotional issues as well. Despite their best efforts, her teachers were not able to adequately address Nava’s academic needs, and it only got worse. At Legacy, on the other hand, from day one, not only were my daughter’s unique academic needs accounted for head on, but she was not made to feel like an awkward outcast; she didn’t carry a burden of shame or inadequacy tied to her unique learning needs. The result is that, almost overnight, my daughter’s demeanor and, importantly, her ability to be available for classroom learning shifted. It is no question that credit for this change goes to her teachers, tutors and support staff at Legacy.”
Jordan C.
“They meet each kid where they are at. They adapt their teaching to meet the individual child’s learning style. I think that the small class size helps with that. Public school couldn’t really give him the accommodations that he needed. I also think they engage the kids interests, and a lot the papers he brings home are about things he is interested in. Really they connect it to what the kids like and enjoy. The teachers really do provide individualized instruction. They utilize a lot of hands on and tangible things that really engage students with language disabilities. They really meet each kid where they are.”
Stephanie R.
“When Joe came into Legacy, he was very discouraged about school and hated having “sucklexia”. Now he embraces that he learns differently and has gained so much confidence in school and is so much happier.”
Cat M.
“Burke has turned into a voracious reader. Its not just about learning the material its been about building the confidence and excitement about learning.”
Matt H.
“The transformation has been amazing. From his self esteem, confidence, and academic improvements. Legacy has provided an invaluable experience for our son.”
Amber M.
“There’s data to show it. He started a grade level below and now hes reading a grade level above. Its mainly for dyslexic kids, but dyslexia isn’t his biggest struggle. Disgraphia and writing are much harder, and organizing his thoughts, and they have done so much to help with that. They give him graphic organizers and help him color code. They break it down into manageable chunks. They also help by breaking it down into small groups and working one on one in math. Getting that one an one attention is really great. We also love how they do homework. It has made such a difference, homework can be such a stress on the household and the kid. I love that its one sheet and its review. He has his reading and his one math worksheet and he can get it done and it’s not a stressor. It has boosted his self esteem academically and socially. It has opened his eyes to see that others struggle with the things he struggles with. Public school made him feel stupid because he was the only one struggling.”
Stephanie R.
“Reading has been a struggle for Phoebe like most students at Legacy, but she has come so far. She is proud of herself and is excited to read her homework at night to me now! She has always had a passion for books which used to be more of a frustration, is now becoming more enjoyable! We still have a lot more work, but we are confident with the help from the Legacy School, she is unstoppable.”
